The organizers of the “Baltic Beach Party” festival have announced a burst of novelties for the anniversary year, which means that the celebration of the beach festival’s tenth anniversary has started! Today’s press conference presented this year’s special guests, declared the band of anniversary as well as introduced a special surprise for all visitors – this year, the festival will be held for three days. It also outlined other events ahead in the tenth “Baltic Beach Party”.
“If somebody would have told me ten years ago, when I first thought of the idea to organize a party on the beach, that the “Baltic Beach Party” will become as it is now for the tenth anniversary, most likely we would have smiled ambiguously. It cannot be told in one, ten, nor millions of sentences how we have been doing and what has happened during these years, however one thing is certain and probably it is the most fundamental lesson of the anniversary: all this would never and nowhere be possible if the festival did not have so many faithful visitors throughout all these years. That is what gives the feeling that not we alone, but all those hundreds of thousands visitors that have been part of the beach party for the first decade are the ones that deserve the three days and nights this year to turn their back to the things that make everyday life too serious and complicated and celebrate the anniversary of the festival in full power, full colors and experiencing the variety of events!”, the authors of the “Baltic Beach Party”, brothers Raivo and Mareks Medini said when announcing the anniversary year on behalf of the festival organization team.
Commenting on this year’s “Baltic Beach Party” list of special guests, the organizers point out that the main philosophy of the festival has not changed, since the most important is to create a world in which every visitor of the festival would have the broadest possible choice of diverse musicians, bands and artists. This year, various nationalities of musicians will be arriving from nine and a half countries to perform as special guests on the very sea coast in the Liepaja festival.
A proper northern rock performance will be granted by winners of multiple music awards, owners of multi-platinum and gold discs, THE RASMUS from Finland. Also, the Africans from Norway, MADCON are packing their bags to Liepaja; so far, their brightest and most distinguished work is the megahit Beggin ‘. Their musical style is described as retro-urban, presenting influences of many different styles. This year Liepaja will host one of the world’s top DJ, musicians and producers from Germany, ATB, too.
Russian rock music on the “Baltic Beach Party” stage this year will be represent by the melodic rockers from Moscow, ZVERY, that have won the ‘Best Band’ award of the Russian music television “Muz-TV” six times in a row. An impressive show for the anniversary year will be brought up by a show-band from Romania, SISTEM: they demonstrate really bright stage shows in their live concerts. This band is globally unique by combining percussionists playing on metal cans, plastic barrels and other non-traditional music instruments.
Lovers of sunny R`n`B, hip hop, dance and reggae will delight a group from Nigeria, TUKLAN! As another pleasant surprise for the festival are expected the SKIP THE USE from France, who promised “a cocktail of explosive punky glam rock music.” Dance music in the festival will be also offered by DJ SASH from Germany, who is rightly called a legend of the European dance world. This year, he has returned to the stage to make new surprises. A garage rock lesson in Liepaja will be presented by currently the most popular Estonian band BEDWETTERS. And, no matter which time in a row, the festival will be honored again by the presence of one of the long-ago symbols of the “Baltic Beach Party”, the funrock brigade AUDIOSMOG from Germany, giving their only concert in the world this year right on the Liepaja beach. Dance music project from Britain, DARIO G. will take care of some summer shades to the festival.
Finally! In honor of the festival’s anniversary, a sensational performance the first and the only time in this decade will be presented by the Estonian country pank band REIGANI, who are also really seriously preparing for the festival “Baltic Beach Party”.
“”Baltic Beach Party” is the right place where to have real fun, now for three days and three nights. This is a festival where you come, leaving behind neckties, high-heeled shoes, titles, positions and responsibilities to keep all worries, everyday and duties behind the festival’s door. This is why we invited the hot Estonian guys, namely the band REIGANI to be the anniversary band of the “Baltic Beach Party”, says the representative of the festival team Maija Kalnina.
As usual, the special guests will only be part (although significant!) of what is called the “Baltic Beach Party”. As other years, also this year the world on Liepaja beach will offer a variety of other events. Besides the main stage, this year there will be a powerful stage of “Golden Sunsets”, that will continue the traditions of the “Beach Rock.LV” even louder; there will be a Mecca for dance and electronic music lovers, the “Beach Dance House” and also there will be events for the youngest visitors of the beach party, as well as sports activities, various shows and performances. Every visitor will be welcome to various competitions, attractions and lots of other surprises.
One of the most noticeable and colorful inventions planned is the project “Liepajas Dzintars Golden Moments”. This will be a special program designated to remember the grandfather of festivals in Latvia, Liepajas Dzintars, during the tenth anniversary of the “Baltic Beach Party” and to recall its ultimate importance to the festival culture.
“Baltic Beach Party” ticket sales will begin on May 25. Information about prices will follow in the coming days.
To correct the previous announcements, the festival “Baltic Beach Party” this year will be held for three days – from the 22nd to 24th of July.
